Please be aware that the internet is currently awash with thousands of fake GHD hair irons, these goods are dangerous and DO NOT straighten your hair and because they are fakes they do not have any kind of warranty. The first page of google is 80% full of fake GHD advertisers. Many of these companies try to fool you by saying the product is direct from the manufacturer or TAX FREE hence the cheaper price. Very often they even claim to be official retailers or in some cases GHD themselves! If the price seems to good to be true then it is! These websites are usually quite easy to identify if you use these simple steps to make sure your purchase is legitimate:-
1. Does the website have a phone number you can contact if your delivery does not arrive or you have a problem with your iron?
2. Does delivery take more than 2 days (the fakes come from Hong Kong, South America and Australia and take a week usually) do they offer a next day service?
3. Is the price VERY cheap, as a company we have bought hundreds of GHD's at a time and we cannot get our trade price below £75 so if the price is below this YOU ARE BUYING A FAKE!
4. Go to the official GHD site www.ghdhair.com/beware-imitations/website-checker and read more information on spotting fakes, also ebay has many guides on fake ghd's take the time to check it will be worth it!
